Frank grew up in California and started
his musical interest playing clarinet while in the 5th grade. He
then moved to Reno Nevada with his family when he was in the 7th
grade. He later switched to drums and joined the marching band by
the time he was a freshman in High School. While in High School,
Frank had a friend named Kevin Woods who had a guitar that frank
used to like to diddle around on. Kevin would play records from
Rush and some of his other favorite bands and Frank would listen and
start playing along with the record. Kevin noted the talent and
told Frank he should be a guitar player. Frank then switched to
guitar and Kevin played the Bass and they formed their first band
called "Blue Ice". The young band played Proms and Homecoming dances
for the surrounding schools in the area. As the band began to get
popular, Frank found Jesus and gave his heart to the Lord. He was
17 years old.
After graduating from high school, Frank and a few of his Christian
musician friends, Brent Speegle and DJ Nicholson, formed a band
called "Commandment". this band began doing Youth events all over
Nevada and California. Frank saw an Ad in Contemporary Christian
Magazine CCM and came out to Pennsylvania where he got hooked up
with Ray Fletcher, Band Manager for Messiah Prophet in 1986. He was
first introduced to the band during the finishing touches of the
Master of the Metal Album. He replaced Brian Nicarry as the guitar
player shortly before the release of the Album. Frank traveled with
Messiah all over the US and Europe during the Master of the Metal
tour in 1987.
Messiah Prophet broke up soon after that and Frank started another
band called "Triune". Truine consisted of former members from
"Voyager" Sean Regal, Shane Regal, and Brian Cromliegh. Triune and
Sardonyx played few shows together were Frank first met Tom Denlinger.
In 1994 Ray Fletcher called Frank and told him he had the funding to
do one more Messiah Prophet CD but could not get the other original
members to participate. Frank Suggested using other talented
players like Sean and Shane Regal, Sam Hackenberger, David Grimes,
and Michael Anthony (Sardonyx).
The CD "Colors" was the last album released by the name Messiah
Prophet.
